HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Human trafficking is exploitation — and it can happen to anyone.
At our shelter, we recognize the deep connection between domestic violence and human trafficking. Survivors of trafficking often experience abuse, manipulation, and control similar to intimate partner violence — and they deserve safety, support, and justice.
What is Human Trafficking?
Human trafficking is the use of force, fraud, or coercion to exploit someone for labor or sex. Traffickers often prey on people who are vulnerable, isolated, or in crisis — including those fleeing domestic violence.
It can happen to:
Adults or children
Any gender or sexual orientation
People from all backgrounds, communities, and income levels
